New Site for Teen Voices: HuffPost High School Launches Today
A new section of The Huffington Post launched today that is completely devoted to teenagers and the issues that matter most to them. This section, HuffPost High School, features articles written by teen authors and a compelling group blog where teen bloggers are free to post as often or as infrequently as they choose about everything from standardized tests to high school sports—and everything in between.
Marsali Hancock, CEO and president of iKeepSafe wrote in a recent article, “HuffPost High School gives students a megaphone to shout out their experiences and build credible reputations as thought leaders, influencers and writers. It ramps up our teens to succeed as social media mavens by offering built-in editorial oversight and protection from its experienced editors and publishers.”
In addition to becoming a go-to destination for—and by—America’s teenagers, Huff Post High School will contribute a monthly column written by teens about subjects relating to technology, privacy, and specific Internet safety topics to be featured in iKeepCurrent™ Generation Safe™ News Feed. Launching in mid-October, iKeepCurrent™ is a coordinated effort to increase the online competence, confidence and critical thinking skills of parents, educators and students. Distributed weekly, it will include curricula for students connected to current events and media stories, professional development, messages to parents, content for broadcasters, and PSAs.
